Violinist of Romanian origin Radu Blidar debuted as a soloist when he was only twelve. After his studies in Romania, he was admitted in the Higher National Conservatory of Music of Paris. Years later he improved in Austria.

He was invited by the Symphony Orchestra of London to play in the Royal Festival Hall, after which he reached an agreement with a lot of French orchestras (and abroad). He interprets many concerts by Mozart, Beethoven, Prokofiev and Shostakovich. He also carries out an intense activity as a chamber musician, playing for top-class audiences like London’s Barbican Center, New York’s Lincoln Center, Cité de la Musique, Maison de Radio France, Musée d'Orsay Salle Gaveau, Théâtre du Châtelet of Paris Salzburg’s Mozarteum and in countries such as Germany, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, former Yugoslavia, South Africa, South Korea, Japan...

He has been awarded in many international contests of Germany, Austria, Spain, United States, France or Czech Republic. In 1993 Radu Blidar was chosen as the young violinist of the year by the European Council and the Young Foundation. He also received the Nadia Boulanger Award in France in 1994 and the French Award of Music and SPEDIDAM award of chamber music in 1997 and 1999 respectively.

He has made recordings for AM, Salabert, Harmonia Mundi, MMSG of some pieces by Constant, Szymanowski, Janacek and Ravel and also TV and radio recordings in France and abroad.

He is particularly fond of 20th century repertoire (Bartók, Berg, Dutilleux, Ligeti...). He has composed and dedicated many pieces. Upon request of Musique Nouvelle en Liberté, in 2001 he composed a piece for violin and electronics.

Teaching is his passion, and he works as a professor of the Royal College of Music of London, his students being among the winners of many international contests and part of prestigious orchestras.

Apart from member of the jury of some international contests, Radu Blidar is also the president and artistic director of the International Contest of Music Vibrarte of Paris.

He plays several violins, including a Stradivarius of 1714.
