He is born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he starts his music studies with masters Jaimez Medina and J. A. García. He continues his formation in Madrid with E. Correa and gets the highest qualifications in cello and chamber music.

He is awarded the First Prize "City of Albacete", Second Prize of "Young Musicians" in 1983 and First Prize of Permanent Contest in 1984, together with Prize "Luis Colemán" (Santiago de Compostela) and the Award of Musical Interpretation of General Direction of Music and Theater.

He has taken part in the Master Classes of E. Arizcuren Jr., M. Rostropovitch and I. Monighetti, P. Farulli and M. Gulyas in the Queen Sofía College of Music.

He often participates in the most prestigious cycles of chamber music (National Auditorium, J. March Foundation, Caja Madrid Barcelona, Conde Duque Cultural Centre, Academy of Fine Arts, Contemporary Music Festival of Alicante, etc.) and is a regular guest in pedagogical and interpretation courses, including Toledo, Morella, Segorbe, Las Palmas, Calahorra, Salamanca, Caminomorisco, Canfranc, Almería, Gijón, Barcelona, Sabadell, Molinos, etc.

He has played as a cello soloist in the orchestra of the Spanish State media RTVE, given classes in Conservatory of Guadalajara and worked as an assistant professor of Sony Professorship in Cello conducted by master Frans Helmerson of Queen Sofía College of Music.

In November 1999 he took part as a guest in the sessions, master classes and concerts of "Bachannalia 99" at the University of Cincinnati.

He has played as a soloist with different orchestras, like ORTVE, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Madrid.
As usual collaborator of "Plural Ensemble", he has also participated in contemporary music festivals like "A. Tempo" in Caracas, Strasbourg or "Presences 2000" in Paris. During 2006, he took part with the Ensemble of Madrid in diverse Contemporary Music Festivals in Dublin.

Together with Manuel Guillén (violin) and Miguel Ituarte (piano) he has recorded the Beethoven’s complete works for Vía Digital.

He regularly collaborates as a soloist with the Camerata Sa Nostra of Palma de Mallorca and with Nicolás Chumachenco (violin) in many cycles of chamber music.

Apart from that, he is a member of the group of antique music “Zarabanda” and has recently played with its founder and director Álvaro Marías (flute) in Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, Portugal and Italy. In October 2007 he made his debut in the United States (San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Hartford and Washington) with great success.

Presently he is a soloist of the Spanish National Orchestra, teacher of Higher Conservatory of Zaragoza, guest teacher of Conservatory of Rotterdam and cello soloist of the Chamber Orchestra Queen Sofía.
